Job Title: Accounting Assistant
We are seeking to hire an Accounting Assistant for one of our clients from the Construction industry with headquarters in New York. This position supports the accounting department with day to day administrative tasks and projects.
Responsibilities:
- Keeping financial records up-to-date
- Processing business transactions
- Handling bookkeeping and following accounting best practices
- Reconcile financial books including incoming and outgoing funds.
- Analyze financial information in order to identify discrepancies
- Research and resolve discrepancies in a timely fashion
- Maintain confidentiality of all financial data
- Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work in order to ensure compliance with applicable standards
- Assist with daily invoicing
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Excellent knowledge of English language
- 2-year degree in accounting, and/or comparable experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Proficiency with QuickBooks
- Able to read, analyze, and interpret important instructions, guidelines, and/or communications and respond accordingly
- Highly organized with exceptional follow-through abilities
