Program Coordinator for CONCORDIA TRANZIT CENTRE,
a program of the ASSOCIATION CONCORDIA PROJEKTE SOCIALE KOSOVO
Background
The ASSOCIATION CONCORDIA Projekte Sociale is a non-governmental organization dedicated to helping children, young people, families as well as (socially and ethnically) marginalized groups in need, towards an independent and responsible life. CONCORDIAs mission statement is to “go where the need is greatest…and where others don’t go”!
The program CONCORDIA Tranzit Centre is located in the neighborhood of Tranzit, north of the city Prizren, at the address Rr Lahuta e Malësisë, where groups of different ethnical communities live. The Centre is providing social and educational support to more than 100 children and young people from vulnerable families, as well as for their parents.
With the overall goal to trigger sustainable positive changes in the lives of the most vulnerable children, young people and families, CONCORDIA focuses on:
- Securing a functioning everyday life that offers protection, belonging and provision;
- Fostering the capacities for self-determination and central „life skills“ (self-confidence, self-efficacy and social skills);
- Mobilising each individual’s (creative) potential;
- Fostering a secure bonding of children and youth (as an important pre-condition for the development of life skills).
CONCORDIA Projekte Sociale is looking for a suitable person for the position of Program Coordinator for the CONCORDIA Tranzit Centre in Prizren.
The Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the successful planning and completion of social and educational projects and interventions. Her/his duties include leading program staff and delegating tasks among them, monitoring program budgets and performing outreach duties to engage with the local community.
Main responsibilities:
- Supervise the program’s staff, delivery of services and interventions;
- Schedule program work, oversee daily operations, coordinate the activities of the program and set priorities for managing the program;
- Monitor program expenditures;
- Prepare financial reports and maintain records pertaining to program activities;
- Propose for approval and purchase of equipment and supplies needed by the staff and program;
- Manage marketing and outreach to the community; establishes and maintains contacts with authorities and NGOs;
- Perform the evaluation of the staff;
- Maintain a work climate adequate to achieve the program’s objectives; develops and maintains optimal relationships with all staff, to whom he/she provides direct support;
- Observe the rules of work discipline, the internal norms and those imposed by the legislation in force, as well as the established procedures and work instructions;
- Actively and promptly solve any conflict situations, immediately taking the correct measures that are required;
- Prepare or assist in the preparation of grant requests and funding continuation from outside sponsors;
- Organize programs for festive occasions, sponsoring visits, officials, etc.

The ideal candidate:
- Experience in a similar position of at least 2 years
- Graduate of social sciences
- Leadership skills
- Organizational skills
- Adaptability, self-motivation, enthusiasm, empathy and desire to assume responsibilities
- Close attention to detail and the ability to plan ahead
- Ability to work under pressure
- Has knowledge about current social and legislative trends and changes
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary team
- Openness to work with people from disadvantaged backgrounds and ethnic minorities
- Ability to manage difficult situations, conflict negotiation, mediation between beneficiaries and authorities
- Interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication
- Languages spoken: Albanian (mother tongue) and English (C1 proficiency)
- Commits to respect CONCORDIA Child Protection Policy and all the other policies and procedures of the organization
- Driving license category B
- MS Office knowledge - Word, Excel, Power Point, MS outlook
