INTERNSHIP TITLE: Grants Intern
INTERN WORKSITE LOCATION: Prishtina, Kosovo
DATES OF INTERNSHIP: November 2023 – January 2024
LENGTH OF INTERNSHIP: 3 months, with possibility of extension up to 6 months
WORKING HOURS: 4 hours a day, 20 hours per week, flexible as coordinated with the supervisor.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The USAID Kosovo Compete Activity is a five-year project implemented by DT Global that aims to promote resilient, self-sustaining market systems, and facilitate the private sector’s improved competitiveness in local, regional, and global markets. The USAID Kosovo Compete Activity works to empower firms, organizations, and institutions to improve market systems in three key export-oriented sectors (Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), Wood processing, and Food processing) and sustainably increase their competitiveness. By working to address constraints across the system, USAID Compete will enable scalable and systemic change to occur, stimulating job creation and the private sector’s increased ability to engage in local, regional, and international markets. The expected results of the Activity across all three sectors are 1) market systems are strengthened to increase sector competitiveness and 2) market actors within those market systems are more productive and competitive..
The Grants Intern will provide daily support and assistance to the Grants Team in organizing and maintaining complete electronic and paper files of all grant documents evidencing compliance with the Grants Manual and USAID rules, regulations, and procedures.

- Obtain knowledge and skills to work in a USAID project.
DELIVERABLES:
- Manage and organize both electronic and paper files of grant documents.
- Document the receipt of grantee reports in the grants database.
- Assist in maintaining a comprehensive database of grant information.
- Conduct desk research and screening of potential grant beneficiaries.
- Take minutes during grant selection committee meetings and other grant meetings.
- Provide administrative support to the Grants Team, including compliance tasks, generating grant documents, and mailing grant agreements.
- Conduct field visits to grant beneficiaries, as needed.
- Assist with any other tasks assigned by the Grants and Subcontracts Manager.
IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:
- Recently completed or in the final year of completion of a university degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, and/or social sciences preferred.
- Strong communications skills.
- Strong writing skills.
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and Albanian.
- Strong computer literacy with internet and social media savvy.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Committed, hard-working, and willing to learn.
- Competency in using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Be flexible and adaptable.
