Social Media & Communications Officer
The National Democratic Institute in Kosovo (NDI) seeks to hire a dedicated Social Media & Communication Officer, to develop communication content for all its programs. The Officer will report to the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager. The position is based in Pristina. Since 1999, NDI/Kosovo has worked to improve legislative and political responsiveness to citizens’ needs by assisting parties with policy development, constituent outreach and caucus coordination; promoting openness and transparency in parliament; strengthening parliamentary capacity and resources for effective oversight and legislative action; and supporting the political participation of women, youth, and non-majority communities.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the communications strategy, planning and execution of the communications content.
- Manage all social media channels of the organization, including: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin, etc.
- Support with social media campaigns, harmonizing them with NDI overall strategy and coordinating with program teams.
- Coordinate with all staff in day-to-day activities in matters related to communications, managing an internal system of communication across teams.
- Provide colleagues advice, guidance, technical assistance and capacity building on promoting programs in social media, identifying success stories, and highlighting program activities.
- Assist in writing, editing and coordinating content, including publications, infographics, videos, and other materials, to promote the organization’s work that is easy to be understood by the public.
- Coordinate public events as required and seek opportunities to promote them in traditional media. Use the organization’s data to promote programs’ results and successes.
- Play a proactive role and ensure the drafting and timely submission of communication pitches/ideas to the teams and donors.
- Ensure that branding strategies are properly implemented throughout the organization public events and materials.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Journalism, Communication, Digital Marketing or related field and/or relevant professional courses
- Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience in communications role and digital communication
- Ability to proactively suggest communication content for social media
- Demonstrated capacity and ability to work as a member of a team
- Working knowledge of PC-based word processing and spreadsheet applications
- Experience working with different content creation platforms
- Experience with Google Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Google Drive, etc.)
- Good organizational, planning, prioritizing, and coordination skills
- Ability to plan budget supporting digital communications
- Knowledge of Kosovo’s political environment would be preferential
- Oral and written fluency in Albanian and English is required. Knowledge of Serbian language or languages of other non-majority communities would be an asset.
