Position: Employment Officer M/F

SOS Children’s Villages is a non-governmental organization, social development organization, which is active in the field of Children’s Rights by supporting their needs and concerns since 1999, offering to children without parental care and in risk of losing parental care, a stable home and solid preparation for an independent life.

SOS Children’s Villages Kosovo is implementing “Youth Empowerment Enabling Prospects” YEEP 2 as regional project funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and SOS Children’s Villages Worldwide, Hermann-Gmeiner Fund Germany (HGFD)). It is implemented by SOS Children’s Villages from five Western Balkan countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina Kosovo, North Macedonia and Serbia) in cooperation with 23 local civil society organizations. The project aims to sustainably improve the socio-economic integration and well-being of vulnerable young people from the five project countries, by empowering 2800 vulnerable youth and improving services for their labour market integration.

For the second phase of implementation of the Youth Empowerment Enabling Prospects (YEEP 2), the SOS Children’s Villages Kosovo is looking for an experienced professional to join the project team in the position of Employment Officer.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for integrating young beneficiaries in the labour market;
• Explores labour market needs and trends;
• In collaboration with case worker identifies individual young person aspirations and strengths to select the right options for vocational training, job-shadowing, internship or employment opportunity;
• Proactively explores available employment opportunities based on the needs of project beneficiaries;
• Proactively explores available government, national and international agencies measure and intensives (for youth and for companies) for combating unemployment of young people.
• Proactively searching for vocational training opportunities for youth;
• Contacts employers to familiarize them with the programme and to create opportunities for collaboration
• Sensitizes employers on the specific of the target group and helps them in creating strategies for retention of vulnerable young people on the workplace
• Monitors progress of the young person during vocational training, job-shadowing, internship and employment

REQUIREMENT FOR THE POSITION:

• Bachelor degree in economics, business, marketing or related social fields;
• At least 3 years proven relevant work experience;
• Knowledge of digital marketing techniques;
• Knowledge of industry, economic trends and job trends;
• Ability to work in a team;
• Ability to be proactive and to be self-starter;
• Strong interpersonal communication skills;
• Very good knowledge of English language in writing and communication;
• Knowledge of Serbian language is desirable.

• Possession of a driving license (Category B);
• Willingness to travel around the country;
• Positive working attitude and ability to work under high pressure.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Time-limited work – until end of project, November 2026
• 40 hours per week
